Janey M. Purvis, MD

Family Medicine

Dr. Purvis comes to Summit Health after working several years as a clinic physician at Cascades East Family Medicine Clinic and Residency Program in Klamath Falls. While in Klamath Falls, she served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine affiliated with Oregon Health and Sciences University. Also, she was a Child Abuse Medical Examiner at Klamath-Lake CARES.

Dr. Purvis completed her Medical Degree at McMaster University School of Medicine in Ontario, Canada, Masters of Science in Faculty of Medicine from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Nutrition from the University of Alberta.

Dr. Purvis is board certified in Family Medicine, is a member of American Academy of Family Physicians, Oregon Academy of Family Physicians, American Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology and American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children, and has served on the Oregon Attorney General’s Sexual Assault Task Force.

Her primary interest is in general family medicine, but she has extensive experience and interest with colposcopies and women’s gynecologic health issues such as endometrial biopsy, IUD insertion or removal, and cryotherapy. She enjoys working with patients of all ages and listening to their life stories.

In her spare time, Dr. Purvis enjoys outdoor activities, hiking, cycling, skiing, traveling and time with her three daughters.
