These bite-size treats are excellent for events and family gatherings.

Makes about 30.


  • 1/2 cup slivered almonds, toasted and divided
  • 1 cup dried figs, stems removed
  • 1/2 cup pitted dates
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon grated orange zest


Finely grind almonds in a food processor and place to the side. Pulse figs, dates, vanilla, cinnamon and orange zest together until dried fruit is broken down and mixture is sticky. Then pulse in 2 tablespoons of the ground almonds. Add mixture into a bowl.

Separate paste into bite-size portions. Roll portions into small logs, then roll logs in remaining ground almonds. Before consuming refrigerate for at least 2 hours. Treats will last up to 3 days, 5 days if frozen.
