BEND MEMORIAL CLINIC INFECTIOUS DISEASE PROVIDER LAURIE D’AVIGNON COMPLETES MASTERS OF PUBLIC HEALTH THROUGH JOHN HOPKINS SCHOOL OF PUBLIC HEALTH

BEND, Ore.— Bend Memorial Clinic (BMC) Infectious Disease Provider, Dr. Laurie D’Avignon, recently completed a Masters of Public Health through Johns Hopkins School of Public Health.

The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health is dedicated to the education of a diverse group of research scientists and public health professionals, a process inseparably linked to the discovery and application of new knowledge, and through these activities, to the improvement of health and prevention of disease and disability around the world. Dr. D’Avignon’s primary focus areas included quality of care and patient safety and she is committed to developing and implementing policies and procedures that reduce medical errors and ensure that patients receive safe and effective medical care.

Prior to joining BMC, Dr. D’Avignon worked as an Infectious Disease Physician at Wilford Hall Medical Center and Brooke Army Medical Center. D’Avignon was also the Director of the Infectious Diseases and Global Health Security Program at Defense Institute for Medical Operations, as well as, an Assistant Professor at Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She completed a Fellowship in Infectious Disease at National Institutes of Health, an Internal Medicine residency at David Grant Medical Center and received her medical degree from University of Arizona College of Medicine. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease.
