Dr. Lurtsema’s journey in medicine began with her undergraduate studies at the University of New Mexico, where she earned bachelor’s degrees in biology and chemistry. Dr. Lurtsema went on to attend medical school at Texas Tech University, where she also completed her residency in Family Medicine.

Dr. Lurtsema’s medical training further fueled her dedication to providing comprehensive primary care for individuals of all ages, including women’s health, contraception management, and mental health. “My philosophy is to tailor care to the individual, recognizing that each patient has specific goals and needs,” Dr. Lurtsema explains. “I hope to enforce the values of a healthy lifestyle that can lead to lasting improvements for patients.”

In addition to her professional achievements, Dr. Lurtsema enjoys spending time with her husband and young son. She loves exploring the outdoors, enjoying a book, trying out a new recipe, and gardening.
