As a Physician’s Assistant with Summit Health’s Urgent Care team, Collette Rhyner believes in the importance of making sure her patients have a clear understanding of their visits. “I want patients to leave feeling like they have an understanding of what occurred during the visit, what the overall diagnosis or thought process was concerning their chief complaint, and what the working plan of care is at the time of discharge,” says Ms. Rhyner. She attributes her passion for patient care to her childhood PA, who took time to educate and connect with each of her patients.
Ms. Rhyner earned her master’s degree of Physician Assistant Studies from Seton Hill University, after growing up in Somerset, Pennsylvania. When thinking about her approach to patient care, Ms. Rhyner says, “I try to approach every patient interaction like the patient in front of me was a close friend, or family member.”
When not working, she enjoys being outside, traveling, drinking good coffee, and spending time with family and friends.
