David Mize, MD, MS, is a member of Summit Health’s Gastroenterology team. Dr. Mize received his undergraduate degree from the University of California in Davis and earned his Master of Science at the University of California in San Diego. He attended medical school at Hahnemann (Drexel) University in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Mize completed his internal medicine residency at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH, and completed his fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA.
Board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology, Dr. Mize considers himself a general gastroenterologist and treats all types of gastrointestinal diseases, including disorders of the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon, liver, biliary tree, and pancreas. He views the doctor-patient relationship as a collaborative one, by discussing treatment options with them to come up with a treatment plan that best fits their needs.

When Dr. Mize is not in the office, he enjoys spending time with his wife and children, cooking, and outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling, and skiing.
