Heidi Rasmussen, LCSW, is a member of Summit Health’s Behavioral Health team at the Old Mill clinic. Heidi completed her Bachelors degree in Social Work at Idaho State University, and later earned a Masters in Social Work.
Heidi credits her choice to pursue a medical career to her passion for physical health, with her goal being to integrate her current and previous experience to help treat the “whole” person. Her primary patients are adults who struggle with addiction and mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, and trauma-related illnesses. “I am a trauma-informed, strengths-based clinician who believes that people are capable of change and can achieve any goal with effort and support,” Heidi says.
Heidi wants her patients to feel comfortable during treatment and feel a sense of safety and trust. “I believe that the therapeutic alliance shared between the patient and the provider is the foundation for meaningful work to occur,” she says. If she can provide her patients with a sense of belonging and worth in any form, this brings her the most joy.
In her spare time, Heidi enjoys being an avid hiker and loves spending time with her two small dogs out in nature. She finds healing in that space and looks forward to every new outdoor adventure.
