Jake Brandt, PA-C

Using his chemical engineering background, Jake Brandt carries a tactical approach into every patient interaction. “I enjoy collaborating with patients to provide the best patient care.  To me, collaborating with patient’s means establishing a rapport with patients, educating them, and discussing all possible options,” he says. As a Physician Assistant with Summit Health’s Neurosurgery team, Jake prioritizes making a connection with patients so that they feel comfortable discussing anything related to their conditions. Says Jake, “The most important aspect to me is that the patient feels heard and they also feel educated so that they can make the most informed decision about their condition.”

After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree at University of Washington in chemical engineering, Jake wanted a change in career and took a research position at OHSU working on experimental drug trials in blood cancers (hematologic malignancies). He then pursued Physician Assistant schooling and graduated from Pacific University PA program in Hillsboro, Oregon.

Outside of work, Jake enjoys all things outdoors – skiing, biking, hiking/backpacking, trail running, and golfing.
