As a cardiologist at Summit Health’s Eastside Clinic, Dr. Jason Davis believes that the best approach to his patient care is laying out all options and providing education to his patients. “I explain the nuanced differences to the patient and family and help guide them to the approach they want to take. This sometimes takes longer but is worth it in the long run,” says Dr. Davis. He describes his passion for medicine comes from the heart health treatment that his grandparents received, and he vowed to become a physician with compassion and empathy toward his patients. “I enjoy getting to know my patients personally in terms of their goals of care,” explains Dr. Davis, “So as to find the right amount of balance in their treatment plan that fits them: the right treatment at the right time for the right patient.”
Dr. Davis spent over 15 years in the United States Army, serving tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. He earned a Bronze Star and Army Commendation Medal. During his long career in the Army, Dr. Davis served as the Chief of Cariology Clinical Services, then later as the Chief of Cardiology Services. He attended the University of Texas Health Sciences Center for medical school and went on to complete his residency at Brooke Army Medical Center in Texas. When not working, Dr. Davis enjoys spending time with his children, traveling the world to fish, and working on project around his house.
