Joel Schneider
As a Cardiologist at Summit Health’s Eastside Clinic, Dr. Joel Schneider believes that being a physician is a privilege which equates to responsibility. “Each patient has their own story and needs that I strive to listen, understand, and offer my best care,” says Dr. Schneider. He decided to pursue medicine because of its unique opportunity to impact the lives of an individual person, their families, and even the community that surrounds them. “Having the opportunity to see patients recover from a heart attack and restore near normal health is rewarding,” Dr. Schneider says. His goal each visit is to reassure and educate patients that cardiology has advanced to allow patients to live long and active lives.
Dr. Schneider attended the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill for both his undergraduate and medical school. He then went on to complete his residency in Rochester, NY, in addition to completing cardiology and interventional cardiology training at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. In addition to patient care, Dr. Schneider has extensive experience in both clinical research and teaching. When not working, he and his wife assist in educating children in Guatemala. He enjoys most water activities including swimming, boating, and paddle boarding.
