Joseph Bachtold, DO is a member of Summit Health’s Family Medicine team located at our Sisters clinic. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Biology from St. Thomas University in St. Paul, Minnesota. He went on to earn his Masters of Public Health with an emphasis in Internal Health and Epidemiology from the University of Hawaii, and attended medical school at Western University of Health Sciences in California. Dr. Bachtold performed his residency at OHSU. He is a board-certified and a Fellow of American Academy of Family Practice (FAAFP). After spending seven years in John Day offering full-spectrum family medicine care, Dr. Bachtold moved to Central Oregon in 2008.
Outside of work, Dr. Bachtold spends most of his time outdoors enjoying fly fishing, rafting, hiking, cross-country skiing and is an avid international traveler.
