Josie Fitzsimons

Josie Fitzsimons, MD, is a board-certified physician in Summit Health’s Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) department. Dr. Fitzsimons attended the University of Notre Dame during her undergraduate education. She later attended medical school at Northwestern University in Chicago, where she earned clinical honors in Pediatrics, Psychiatry, Radiology, and Obstetrics/Gynecology. Dr. Fitzsimons completed her pediatric residency at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, IL, and her PM&R residency at Stanford University Medical Center in Palo Alto, CA.

The most important thing for Dr. Fitzsimons while interacting with a patient is to listen intently to their concerns. “I approach my patients with kindness and respect,” she says. Her patients range from young, healthy teenagers to seniors with underlying disabilities. Her goal is to always help her patients achieve their highest functional potential.

When Dr. Fitzsimons is not working with patients, she can be found in the outdoors swimming and hiking. She also enjoys traveling with her family.
