Julie Aldrich Whalen, FNP-BC, ARNP, is a member of Summit Health’s Urology team. Ms. Aldrich Whalen completed her undergraduate degree in biology at Central Washington University in Ellensburg, WA, and earned a Master’s in Science degree, with honors, from Seattle University.
Before joining Summit Health, she worked as a family nurse practitioner collaborating with surgeons, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, and medical assistants to care for patients with surgical and non-surgical urologic needs. Ms. Aldrich Whalen manages urologic care for pediatric patients including performing histories, physical examinations, minor procedures, lab work, diagnosis, referrals, patient education, treatment plans, preventive care, post-operative care, and pharmacologic therapy.
Ms. Aldrich Whalen has nearly a decade of experience working as a nurse practitioner and loves that she can still learn something new every day. She enjoys partnering with her patients to develop treatment plans that are realistic and attainable for their definition of an ideal state, not necessarily her own. Because urologic issues are so sensitive, she focuses on creating an environment of trust and non-judgment with every patient interaction.
When Ms. Aldrich Whalen is not in the office, she enjoys Nordic skiing (both skate and classic), tennis, yoga, camping, and impromptu dance parties with her three-year-old daughter.
