Kathleen L. Broadman, MD

Dr. Broadman grew up in Tempe, Arizona. She attended Princeton University, graduating with a BA in Comparative Literature in 2001. After graduation, she spent a year as a Fulbright Scholar in Germany, and then attended medical school at the University of Arizona in Tucson. She completed her pediatric residency at Seattle Children’s Hospital, and worked as a pediatrician in the Seattle area before relocating to Bend with her family in the summer of 2010 to join Summit Health Pediatrics. Dr. Broadman is certified by the AOA honor society, FAAP (Fellow of American Academy of Pediatrics) and is Board Certified in Pediatrics.

Dr. Broadman chose pediatrics as a career for a very simple reason — she loves kids! She enjoys developing long-lasting relationships with patients and families, and takes special pleasure in guiding new parents through their baby’s first year of life, as well as supporting families through times of illness and stress.

Dr. Broadman loves traveling and learning about other cultures. During college, she spent a summer as a nurse’s aide in a rural hospital in Switzerland, which is where she decided to be a pediatrician. She also did HIV/AIDS education in Ghana, West Africa. During medical school, she spent time in Ecuador and Guatemala, doing medical volunteer work and studying Spanish. She has a huge heart for social justice issues. In addition to the volunteer work she has done while traveling, she has volunteered with migrant workers and victims of domestic violence.

Dr. Broadman has a husband and three daughters. As a family, they are very active and enjoy skiing, hiking, camping, and anything else outdoors. She is always looking forward to the next travel adventure.
