Melinda Burns-Williams, NP

Melinda Burns-Williams, is a nurse practitioner at Summit Health.  Since her early childhood, Melinda knew she was destined to pursue a future in healthcare. “I found I had a passion to take care of others and to help others,” she says. Melinda competed her undergraduate nursing program and proceeded to obtain her master’s degree in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner in 2015.

Throughout her career, Melinda has found that she enjoys treating patients in every stage of life. “Having been in various roles in healthcare, I have had the privilege of treating patients from their time of birth to end of life,” she says. She is not only interested in managing chronic medical conditions, but also urgent issues and procedures such as sutures, biopsies, incisions and drainage,  genitourinary issues and providing preventative care education and support.

When she is caring for patients, Melinda says earning their trust is most important. “I want my patients to be confident in my abilities as their chosen provider, as well as comfortable bringing their various healthcare needs forward to be treated. I strive to achieve an atmosphere of mutual respect and shared decision making for each of my patients.”

In her spare time, Melinda enjoys spending time outdoors in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, and is a frequent kayaker. She also enjoys grabbing a good book and spending time with her family and friends.
