Meredith Helfrich, PA-C, works in Summit Health’s surgery department. Ms. Helrich received a Bachelor’s in Environmental Studies from Denison University in 2005. She earned her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies in February 2019 from Tufts University. Additionally, Ms. Helrich is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and as a Wilderness First Responder. Having over 10 years’ experience seafaring, her maritime duties included serving as a medical officer, emergency medical technician, and boating coordinator, serving as ocean search and rescue team leader. For several years, she sailed the waters of Coastal Maine and Florida acting as the primary caregiver for students on week to month-long wilderness expeditions. Ms. Helrich is certified as a U.S. Coast Guard 500-ton Ocean Master. Most recently, she worked as an Emergency Room Technician within Cape Cod Hospital in Massachusetts, providing trauma stabilization and ensuring patient comfort and satisfaction.
