Seasonal Allergies & Food Allergies/Intolerances @ Summit Health Old Mill District Clinic
Oct 12 @ 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm

If you’re one of the millions of people who have seasonal allergies, it means sneezing, congestion, runny nose, and other bothersome symptoms. Seasonal allergies can make you miserable. But before you settle for plastic flowers and artificial turf, join us to learn more about simple strategies to keep seasonal allergies under control.

It’s easy to confuse a food allergy with a much more common reaction known as food intolerance. While bothersome, food intolerance is a less severe condition. When people have an unpleasant reaction to something they ate, they often think that they have an allergy to the food. However, only about 3% of adults and 6%-8% of children have a true allergic reaction to food. The difference between a food allergy and the public’s perception of the problem is due primarily to misinterpreting food intolerance or other adverse reactions to food as a food allergy. Join us to learn more about the difference between food allergies and intolerances as well as appropriate testing for food allergies.
