Elena Salpas, PA-C, is a Dermatology Physician Assistant at Summit Health in Bend. She treats patients ranging from infants to seniors, and focuses primarily on cutaneous oncology.
Following earning a bachelor’s degree at Northern Arizona University, Elena attended Eastern Virginia Medical School where she graduated with a master’s of physician assistant studies. She then completed the Diplomate Fellowship Program with the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants. Elena’s journey in health care began while studying ecology as an undergraduate when she discovered her passion for science. She wanted to apply her scientific knowledge in a clinical setting and have direct interaction with people so she immersed herself in the field of medicine.
“One of my approaches to patient care is to ensure that I provided proper counseling and education so that my patients never leave with unanswered questions,” explains Elena. She finds fulfillment in her ability to provide compassionate care to her patients, leaving them with a smile on their face.
When not seeing patients, Elena enjoys exploring the outdoors, spending time with her dogs, and traveling abroad.
