Katie Volk, PA, is a family medicine physician assistant at Summit Health Redmond North. She has worked with patients from birth to late stages of life, and enjoys getting to know patients and making individualized plans to optimize their health and accomplish their goals. Katie attended Oregon State University for her undergraduate education, and later went on to earn her Masters of Physician Assistant Studies from Pacific University in Forest Grove.
Katie was drawn to a medical career from having the ability to distill complex concerns into achievable actions with a shared goal of improving the health of people. Her philosophy is to listen to patients’ concerns and goals and to develop the plan. “A therapeutic relationship relies on trust,” Katie says. “It is important to me that I have earned trust from people that choose to work with me and that they feel understood and heard.”
When not seeing her patients, Katie enjoys attending music concerts, reading books, gardening, and running with her dogs. She is also a youth ski race coach in the winter season.
