When choosing to pursue medicine, Monica Giamellero says, “I love the combination of listening, connecting, and applying evidence based medicine to help my patients.” As a Physician Assistant with Summit Health’s Urgent Care team, she approaches her specialty using her background in Emergency Medicine. “I strive to treat the whole patient in body, mind, and spirit,” says Giamellero.
Monica grew up in Anchorage, Alaska. She attended PA school at Cornell University in New York City where she received her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. She earned her Bachelor of Science from the University of Wyoming with degrees in Health Science and Physiology. Monica has practiced as a PA in Emergency Medicine, Urgent Care, Orthopedics, and Occupational Health. Monica is a member of the Oregon Society of Physician Assistants and is active on its government affairs committee.
When she’s not working, Giamellaro loves to be outdoors and especially on the rivers and in the mountains with her family. She is passionate about nutrition and fitness.
