Dr. Preston obtained his medical degree from the Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency in Family Medicine in Coeur D’Alene, Idaho. He is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.
Previously, Dr. Preston worked in oil and construction, but felt underwhelmed by the lack of challenges those industries presented. He also became quickly discouraged by the inability to form personal relationships within those fields. This led Dr. Preston to enter medicine, a field that better suits his personality and goals.
Dr. Preston received broad training in Family Medicine, but became particularly interested in inpatient and acute care. He enjoys working as part of the larger health care industry for the benefit of his patients and appreciates the challenges that inpatient care provides. Dr. Preston loves meeting people from all avenues of life and forming personal relationships with his patients. He feels that this provider-patient connection is pivotal to achieving trust and working together towards health care goals and positive health outcomes.
Outside of the office, Dr. Preston enjoys playing tennis, riding dirt and mountain bikes, skiing, hiking, playing guitar and spending time with his wife and dog.
