DECEMBER 1, 2020, BEND, OR – Summit Medical Group Oregon (SMGOR) today announced another expansion of its Total Care™ model by the acquisition of Summit Health Solutions, a pain management clinic, and the addition of a highly-skilled pain management specialist, Jack Berndt, MD. Dr. Berndt will begin practicing at SMGOR’s Eastside Clinic located at 1501 NE Medical Center Drive on December 14th.
Adding this new specialty will strengthen SMGOR’s multi-disciplinary approach to patient care by offering more streamlined access to address pain management needs of those patients in one convenient location. “Individually and thoughtfully managing the pain of each of our patients, at the same time improving their overall quality of life is our primary goal with this acquisition,” says Dr. Russell Massine, SMGOR Chief Physician Executive. Since Dr. Berndt has practiced in our area for over twenty years, he has a keen understanding of our community’s specific needs which is an invaluable asset to SMGOR.”
Dr. Berndt is board certified with the American Board of Anesthesiology and a member of the American Academy of Pain Management, the Pain Society of Oregon, the American Medical Association, and the Oregon Medical Association. He is a diplomat of the American Academy of Pain Management and certified in Age Management Medicine from the Cenegenics Institute.
Dr. Berndt received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion and completed his Anesthesiology Residency at the University of Texas, Galveston. “Joining SMGOR will allow me to focus on patient care while having greater access to additional resources and support,” Dr. Berndt says. “I look forward to continuing to provide the highest quality of pain management care to Central Oregonians and giving them easier access to the many specialties and services SMGOR offers.”
